Bear Root Herb Farm is owned and operated by Lauren Caprio and Danielle Smith. We built a greenhouse in our backyard in 2011, and are now entering our second season of growing herb, vegetable, and flower starts for our neighbors' gardens. We spend most of our year as farm- and kitchen- workers, but spend every second we can in the spring and early summer in our happy place: the greenhouse! We love growing and using medicinal herbs, trying new and unusual vegetable varieties, and covering every horizontal or vertical space available with marigolds, morning glories, and nasturtiums. We grow for people like us: farmer-gardeners who love to grow their own food, try new things, and create beautiful gardens.
